Location :

  • Ghent, Belgium + presence in Belgium and Ireland (industry partners)

Offer :

  • The selected candidates will be employed with a fulltime contract (1+3 years).
  • The salary follows the Marie Curie-Skłodowska DN funding Scheme that offers a highly completive salary.
  • On top of the regular compensation, an extra allowance will be available to cover mobility expenses.
  • The living allowance will be subject to a country correction coefficient, according to the hosting country. Applicants may also be eligible for a family allowance. Therefore, the exact gross salary will be confirmed upon appointment.
  • Typical research projects in the Design group involve multiple researchers with different specialties working as a team. Hence, a good team spirit, a good knowledge of English and effective communication skills (such as presenting and reporting) are of major importance for a successful collaboration.

Requirements :

  • You need to hold (or will obtain in near future) a relevant master’s degree e.g., Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Photonics
  • Researchers must have not been awarded a doctoral degree.
  • Researchers may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
    • Additional experience considered as a plus:
    • Work experience (academic or industrial) or publications
    • Experimental characterization of high-speed, high-frequency components and (sub-) systems
    • Nanophotonics or quantum communication systems
  • Your English is fluent, both speaking and writing
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to tackle complex problems
