Objectives :

  1. Develop and validate a method for the vitrification of gonadal tissue from teleost species

  2. Validate recovery success of frozen/thawed fragments in vitro

  3. Application of laser cryotome to visualize and characterize freeze-thaw damage in gonadal tissue

Expected Results :

  1. Establish vitrification protocols for the successful cryopreservation of gonadal tissue.

  2. Confirm viability of germ cells/primary oocytes harvested from cryopreserved ovarian fragments.
